Every individual deserves the opportunity to optimize their ability to cope, overcome and grow.

At Yarrow Therapy we have several areas of specialty, please reach out with any questions

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR therapy is a phased, focused approach to treating trauma. Bilateral stimulation facilitates reconnecting images, self-thoughts, emotions, and body sensations that have "become stuck" through contained and measured therapeutic process. EMDR therapy's goal is to release what is maladaptive and secure adaptive self-thoughts, emotions, and body sensations associated with the traumatic experiences.

    Grief & Bereavement Counseling

Grief and Bereavement is life work

Loss and grief are not something we "get over" but something we integrate into our life, our relationships, and our purpose. Therapeutic companioning provides support through this process.

"You may have heard that your grief journey's end will come when you resolve or recover from your grief. But your journey will never end. People do not "get over" grief. You are not the same person as you once were."

    - Alan Wolfelt

    Perinatal Mental Health Counseling

    Parenting Coaching

Every child, every developmental phase is different. Seeking support in navigating these relationships can ease distress as you move through parenting phases.

    Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety manifests in lots of different ways, but common symptoms of anxiety are; worry, apprehension, being keyed up, feeling restlessness, and/or irritability. Anxiety can disturb our sleep, cause muscle tension, and leave us easily fatigued. Anxiety can impair our ability to function and cause significant disturbance in our social life, our occupations, and in our personal life.

    Telehealth

Telehealth offers access to therapy through the flexibility of being at home and outside of typical business hours. It can be secure, confidential, convenient, and accepted by most insurance.

    Therapy for Chronic Illness

Therapy can provide support to individuals struggling with a diagnosis, treatment, or lifestyle changes due to chronic illness. Also, those dealing with long-term symptoms that are unhelped and unmanaged by treatments.

These are all reasons therapy can support those with chronic illness:

    • Individuals with chronic physical illnesses are twice as likely to suffer from anxiety or depression as their physical health counterparts.
    • Chronic illness robs individuals of traditional access to many forms of coping.
    • Dealing with chronic illness can be isolating and overwhelming.
    • Managing unpleasant symptoms and/or pain usually accompanies chronic illness.
    • Constant pain and life adjustments interrupt daily functioning and impair personal relationships.

    Therapy for Depression

Depression is identified by a marked diminished interest in daily tasks. Feeling depressed more days than not as indicated by feeling sad, hopeless, or empty. Depression takes away our ability to look forward to things like we normally would, zapping our pleasure and often ability to feel connected to others.

    Women’s Issues

A women's mental health intersects with her developmental phases of life. Regardless of what stage of life you are in overall well-being and contentedness is important in all your relationship, including your relationship with self.

    Bipolor

Bipolar disorders include several specific diagnoses, but all are marked by emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). Family history and mental health history over the course of a person's life help clarify diagnoses and treatment.

    Infertility

Difficult life situations can intersect with our mental health at any time. Infertility can create enormous strain and stress on relationships and mental health. Our therapists are familiar with and trained to work with these issues.
